Skills Programmes:
Skills Programmes are occupationally based learning programmes offered by an accredited training provider such as the PFSA. Upon competent completion, learners are granted credits towards a registered NQF qualification e.g. National Certificate in Plastics Manufacturing, or the National Certificate in Generic Management.
PFSA Skills programmes are pitched at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Pre Assessments:
Pre Assessments are a practical way of ascertaining the level of a learner's competence (and gaps), in terms of a registered qualification or national certification e.g. National Certificate Plastics Manufacturing NQF Levels 2 – 4. Employees/ Learners are assessed against main manufacturing processes in the following ways:
- Electronic
- Written
- Conventional based on Job Description
Assessments:
Assessments are aimed at indicating the level of learner competence against various learning outcomes. These assessments typically comprise of daily tests, examinations, theoretical assignments, practical, projects, and workplace experience assignments. PFSA undertakes the various types of assessments:
- Formative
- Summative
- Integrated Summative
- Learning Potential
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process whereby the previous learning and experience of a learner is assessed against the required learning outcomes of a industry specific qualification. It is a practical way of recognizing learners for their knowledge and experience gained through means other than by formal training.
